Syrian Rebels – Are the Moderates in the Lead?

Roadmap to Syria Oposition

Roadmap to Syria Opposition

The President, the lawmakers, and the mainstream media, for more than two years now, continue to bank on the assumption the Syrian rebels are controlled by Al-Qaeda, and the misinformation from MSM pundits, that we should not aid the rebels in Syria.  Meanwhile over 120,000 have died and millions have been displaced from their homes. The refugee camp in Jordan is the 5th largest city in Jordan right now. This is the inconvenient truth.

We should make them watch this atrocity —> An incendiary bomb dropped on to a school playground.

My concern is the public has been ill advised. Below are, what I believe, reliable sources that the Syrian rebels are controlled by moderates. Considering we still do have some predominantly Muslim countries, Jordan being one, and our long term ally, Israel, who have expressed allegiance to the US, what happens if we do nothing?

I saw Brett Baird’s recent interview on Special Reports with Elizabeth O’Bagy. Brett deferred to her experience of the region. I found O’Bagey to be intelligent, well-educated, and informed on the people, the countries, the sects, and the religions of the Middle East. Her observations were based on actual “feet on the ground.” Looks like I made a big mistake on Elizabeth O’Bagey trusting Fox News to vett their sources. NOTE: John McCain Hires Elizabeth O’Bagy, Syria Analyst Recently Fired Over False Ph.D Claim

Recent interviews on Hannity also buoy my opinion a US precision air strikes will benefit the moderate rebels in Syria. Gen. Jack Keane, who also has had his “feet on the ground” in Syria states, “Moderates are in the lead…”, and Krauthammer on the same Hannity (Hannity appears to have removed the video from his show), backs Keane up. You can see the videos on “Fox News-Expert on Syrian politics, security speaks out.” http://shar.es/z9kSL

Looking at the challenges we have had in the Middle East region, Iraq being one, would we better off today without Iraq’s testy alliance? How about the Iraqi people? Do the majority of the Iraqi people hate the US? Maybe that should be a clue as to what we should do in Syria, or is it too late? So many lives lost, so many Syrians misplaced from their homes. Do they blame the US?

There are many in Congress, on both sides of the aisle, who oppose us helping the rebels in Syria. Rather than condemn the Syrian people, it strikes me that, as a Christian, those of faith, Christians and Muslims, are being slaughtered both by the governments of Syria, Egypt and Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamist extremists. There are even claims of the rebels killing Christians who have sided with the Assad regime, but I have to believe in the good in people.

On one hand, I like the way Greg Guttfeld said it in his book, The Joy of Hate “I don’t hate all of them (Muslims). I just hate the ones that are trying to kill us.” I have no doubt, we are in great danger. No doubt, there should be more support from the “good” Muslims, but they’re scared and intimidated, too.

I believe that the majority of Middle Easterners, regardless of what tribe, region, or faith, are basically good people. As Americans, we are rich in tradition for having helped innocent people in harms way, and we need to protect the Syrian people from further harm.

In the end I think O’Bagey is a legitimate source, whereas most in the mainstream media are hacks that are reporting on this story are relying on 2nd and 3rd hand information. Some might some might dismiss O’Bagey based on the history alone in the region. I believe. if you ignore all the rhetoric, follow the reporting of people like O’Bagey, Gen. Jack Keane and Charles Krauthammer the decision would be clear, to help the Syrian rebels.

If you believe in reincarnation, and we do nothing to help innocent people from dying maybe if we die and go to hell, we may be reborn in the Middle East?

Let’s Hope Michael Moore Doesn’t Get His Wish!

Michael Moore

Hey Michael! Syrian children are being slaughtered every day!

Now Hollywood is exploiting innocent young children.  Slaughtered.

How much more hate and hurt do you have to spew on the American public to get your big fat ass noticed?  Go make a movie. See if anyone will pay to see it, you washed-up sniveling hate monger.  UPDATE: The pig is fighting his wife over his assets in a divorce?!  Capitalist pig!

We don’t need Michael Moore to get his perverse and twisted wish to release pictures of the senseless slaughter of children at Sandy Hook.

Moore wants to distress the survivors families to further his seriously flawed agenda to take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens.

Responsible citizens can come up with a common sense solution for saving the lives of our children without more suffering at the hands of haters, like Michael Moore.

We have thousands of horrific images of millions of defenseless Jews led to the slaughter in the Holocaust.  Has it stopped modern-day dictators from  slaughtering thousands of innocent civilians?  The answer is a resounding “No!”

Click here to see senseless murder of children happening now!

Case in point, Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad army killing unarmed civilians being slaughtered by the thousands.

Where is Michael Moore’s fat ass voice on this issue?  Where is the mainstream media imploring their god and savior Barrack Obama to do something for the innocents being slaughtered in Syria?

History is the best teacher.  Hitler’s Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

Josef Stalin, the dictator of the Soviet Union from 1924 to 1953, said: “If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.”

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Mao Tze Tung, communist dictator of China, said:

“War can only be abolished through war, and in order to get rid of the gun it is necessary to take up the gun.”

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Idi Amin, president of Uganda from 1971 to 1979, said:

“I do not want to be controlled by any superpower. I myself consider myself the most powerful figure in the world, and that is why I do not let any superpower control me.”

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Pol Pot, who created in Cambodia one of the 20th century’s most brutal and radical regimes, was responsible for killing one million of his own ‘educated,’ yet unarmed citizens.

Guns don’t kill people.  Maniacal, evil, crazy people, kill people.  Let’s get guns out of the hands of criminals and not out of the hands of innocent civilians!

Lead with Words. Live Free, Not Die!

John McCain came out today and said we should arm the freedom fighters in Syria.  John needs to spend more time on his iPad.  Most freedom fighters are peace-loving people, not soldiers.  They want to live free, not die.

Social media, Facebook and Twitter can do what shock and awe, subterfuge and sanctions will not do.   Free the oppressed.

We are ignoring the obvious.  Twitter and Facebook are the path to freedom in Syria and beyond… Twitter and Facebook are ubiquitous.  They can, persona non grata, topple middle eastern dictatorships.

The video link (Iran election pictured on the right) to the right is a segment which highlights the power of the internet and social media, produced by Mike Walsh, futurist and CEO of innovation research lab Tomorrow.

Lead with words!  A double entendre that would be rendered empty without the help of real life martyrs, real life freedom fighters, brave, passionate people dating all the way back to our own founding fathers.

We need to drop Smart Phones not Smart Bombs into countries ruled by dictators and religious zealots!  Cell phones and the internet may be blocked but USB devices are ubiquitous.

Instead of dropping leaflets, like they did on occupied Germany and France in WWII, drop USB key drives and SIM cards for cell phones with a message of hope.

Let them know their leaders are slaughtering their own.  Let them know, those who are freedom fighters, that the whole world is with them.  Let them know the whole world is outraged by the brutal dictatorship and will punish human cruelty.”  Let them know we are grieving their losses.  Let them know the true spirit of freedom and the goodwill of humankind is on their side.

Ask the supporters of the dictators to drop their weapons and cross the line to a world of promise and freedom from oppression.  “The Enemy Within” was an episode of Star Trek: The Original Series.  The evil side of Captain Kirk being beamed up to the Enterprise in Start Trek.  The good Kirk defeats the evil kirk by virtual sheer willpower and the help of Spock and Scotty.

The free world surely has the resources and ingenuity of Spock and Scotty to give the freedom fighters in Syria and beyond the willpower that comes from within.  The good people of Syria and beyond will cross the line and choose to live free.

Let’s do what we can to help them “live” not “die” for freedom.  Let’s show our support and Tweet and Facebook (post) a message now to all your fans and friends, “Live free, Not Die!” to get the message out to our Middle Eastern and African neighbors who live under oppressive dictators.

Here at home, let’s put a face on freedom. Tweet and Facebook the message.  Live free, not die.  Bullets and bombs are cruel and will not discriminate, but truth and freedom will prevail.  Twitter them free.

Wikipedia – Telecommunications in Syria is slowly moving towards liberalization, with a number of licenses awarded and services launched in the Internet service provision market. The initiative reflects the government’s change in attitude towards liberalization, following its promise to the European Union to liberalize markets by 2010. All other forms of fixed-line communications are provided by the state owned operator, Syrian Telecom (Syriatel or STE).[1]
