2012 – You’re Now Dead To Me – Part One – Forewarned is Not Forearmed

2012 – You’re Now Dead To Me… is about my early 2012 blogs – a time when I imagined sanity still ruled the earth.  I blogged a lot about stuff hoping reason would or could prevail.  Nope!

Getting Religion – People only know you’re a Christian by your Facebook.”

What does “shovel ready” really mean to a small business owner?  It means building a business from the ground up!

What were you thinking?!

What were you thinking?!

Lick of Sense! I wish we could all afford to be like Newt Gingrich.  Gingrich is obviously someone who is used to getting what he wants.  If he doesn’t get it, he throws a childlike tirade.

Alien Nation a.k.a., The Obamacare Nation, Alien, the movie was all about spreading spores and breeding aliens to prey on mankind, should the spores reach our planet.  Obamacare and its spores are already here.

Don’t hold your breath, but call me maybe, I have more rants in 2012.  I plan on summarizing them just for you, but I’m busy right now, sleeping.

Social Media is Blowing up the Dictators of This World’s Proverbial Skirts!

Today, Social Media is Blowing up the Dictators of This World’s Proverbial Skirts!

There can be an end to ignorance, hatred and divisiveness.  Our hope is the word, the depiction, the song and the act can bring even greater gratification.  The culmination of art forms can be amplified through the expression of social media.

Today, are words too common?  Is photography, a depiction, passé?  Is sound, music to our ears, second hand?

Words, pictures, sound, all are considered art forms.  Traditional art forms?

It’s more popular to opt for the culmination of all these traditional art forms, video, the act.  There’s no contention.

Publishing of news, magazines and books can produce art.  The same holds true for music and movie production, all established art forms.

So what does YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, social media, bring to the table in terms of art form?  A new art form?   I think not.  Facilitators?  I think so.

Social media brings freedom of expression.  Freedom of expression creates art.  Think light speed.  Social media creates freedom of expression at light speed.  All one can do is imagine the creativity bottled up inside each and every one of us!

Today, through technology, the future is 24/7 and is happening before we can create it!   The future is freedom of expression that will bring worlds apart, together.  Social media, not bullets, not bombs will be blowing up their skirts.  Suppressors of freedom, dictators, communists, socialists, they’re all on notice.

There’s no escape.  Social media is blowing up their skirts.  Stay tuned.  Amazing!

Getting Religion…

Stating the obvious, we know that wearing religion on your sleeve can be dangerous.  Which brings me to one cogent expression from this one young man’s video below; he professes that “people only know you’re a Christian by your Facebook.”

I have experienced their religion first-hand.  If you’re running late and you think finding a seat on a Southwest flight is difficult, try getting to a religious service late.  If you have ever been slow to leave after services, you have been run over by the stampede leaving church or cutoff leaving the parking lot.

I guess it’s still better than being in the Middle East where you could be blown up by a suicide bomber or a roadside bomb.  Thank God no one has been nuked lately.

Don’t get me wrong.  Many who profess their faith in God are truly genuine.  That is why many of us have become instant fans of the Denver Broncos…well Tim Tebow, anyway.  In fact, there does seem to be the hand of God in some of his touchdown throws.  God help the rest of us!

To my point, Christians and Muslims have killed millions in the name of God or Allah, but as Jesus was our Savior, He never meant for any of this to happen.  He wasn’t a “Christian” in religious man-made terms.  He was the first Christian,  He was a true gift from God , the Son of God.  His words were meant to heal not to divide.  He sacrificed himself and died on the cross for all humankind.

I’m not a heretic.  I’m not preaching.  If I was, I’d be preaching to the choir.  This is a lesson.  This is a lesson from the heart.  We need to listen. —> Getting Religion

He says, “Just because you call somebody blind doesn’t mean you have vision.”

We have been warned.  The experts say our next great threat is ourselves, right here in America. It’s now about you and me.  It’s now more important than ever to follow the true meaning of Christ.

We already know we live shoulder to shoulder, possibly arm in arm, with the next domestic terrorist.  Whether he or she is on the side of one religious sect or another, it matters far less than the lives that will be lost.  We just need to stop, listen and learn from Him.

The Greatest Commandment: Love God and Your Neighbor

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Be a Servant to Others

Mark 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

So when you’re on the internet, which is a miracle in itself, to think Al Gore invented it; and you come across an amazing YouTube video, it’s no wonder you will find someone you can relate to and another who says, “hmmm.”

I hope you have labored with me up to this point because if you haven’t seen and heard it, this young man’s poem and video, YouTube Video —->Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus || Spoken Word, it has great insight on man-made religion vs. the true love of God.

In his own words, A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion. In the scriptures Jesus received the most opposition from the most religious people of his day. At it’s core Jesus’ gospel and the good news of the Cross is in pure opposition to self-righteousness/self-justification. Religion is man centered, Jesus is God-centered. This poem highlights my journey to discover this truth. Religion either ends in pride or despair.  Pride because you make a list and can do it and act better than everyone, or despair because you can’t do your own list of rules and feel “not good enough” for God. With Jesus though you have humble confident joy because He represents you, you don’t represent yourself and His sacrifice is perfect putting us in perfect standing with God!”  Jefferson Bethke

Let’s see if this young man can keep his perspective, like Tebow, without becoming carried away with his newfound man-made worship and adoration.

Regardless, his message is compelling.  I have watched and listened to this video several times, not because I am in danger of being left without a seat on a plane or I fear getting run over in a stampede.  I have watched and listened because it has struck a chord…

Maybe there’s hope for our young people.  Maybe they will navigate their way out of this dust storm they have inherited from us.  Maybe those of us older and portended to be wiser, set in our ways; maybe, just maybe, we will follow.

The Real Middle Class is the “Middle Seat” on Southwest Airlines

The real middle class?  Invisible. The mainstream media and the politicians can’t see us from where they’re sitting.

Nothing the middle class does is less than “first class.”

They don’t care about labels or Occupying Anything unless it’s a celebration, like Times Square on New Year’s Eve.

They can’t afford first class tickets.  So they fly Southwest Airlines.

The real “middle class” is willing to stand in line for a bargain.  They rarely complain.  When it comes to flying, they’re just happy to have afforded a seat to a destination for which they are committed and it doesn’t much matter how they get there.

In the real world, Mr. President, there’s no time for “class warfare.”  In this economy, if you do your job, the middle class can do their job. There’s no time for “camplaigning.”

I see the middle class on Facebook, but they much prefer face time.  They are grandparents visiting their grandkids.  They are students heading home with their laundry.   They are guests to a wedding.  They are the bereaved heading to a funeral. They are small business people trying to close the deal.

That would be me, my boarding pass was C4 on a full flight.  Just so you know C4 on a Southwest flight is not a seat number, it a place marker in line.  C4 means 120 passengers have boarded the flight before you and you’re playing musical chairs with anyone standing in front of you or behind.  Those people already seated, they want nothing to do with you! Trust me!

If they are the mainstream media, the pundits, the celebrities, the sound bites and the politicians who want to define the rich and the middle class, they don’t fly Southwest.  I think that can define them.  They are elitists.  I define an elitist as someone who thinks most everyone else is ignorant or stupid.  Attention elitists!  C4 on a Southwest flight is 9 times out of 10, a middle seat.  Then again, if I have to explain C4 on a Southwest flight to an elitist, I guess that makes me one.  So I guess I’m not qualified to run for office.

Middle class America cannot be defined or redefined by sound bites.  The only chance their agenda gets any traction?  It’s if the middle class isn’t looking out the window on our last flight, taking the 30,000 foot view.  They’re too busy dealing with what’s in their lap.  More likely?  Elitist fly first class thinking they’re a pillow away from another Democrat president.  A luxury we cannot afford.

FYI – The only class warfare for me comes with a “Ding!” and it’s all about getting an aisle seat.

If you subscribe and email me, I’ll tell you the secret to flying first class on Southwest.

Twitter me free! Lead with words!

Are Twitter and Facebook  freedom personified!?

Without a doubt face time is far more effective, whenever possible,  in personal relationships but let’s face it, not effective when your dodging bullets (hence the double entendre on lead) even when your message is compelling and needs to go viral.

No measure, including national media in any form, is more effective than a simple post or tweet.

Has social media done what shock and awe, subterfuge and sanctions cannot do?  Free the oppressed?

The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy you vote first and take orders later; in a dictatorship you don’t have to waste your time voting.  – Charles Bukowski
You think!?  I think voting means less lead.  Fewer bomb makers. I like a lottery when it comes to choosing my lawmakers, not a noose.
As for religious freedom?  I’m still debating this topic with my Mom.
Twitter and Facebook are ubiquitous.  Are they the true freedom fighters, persona non grata, going to topple mid-eastern dictators?
Lead with words!
A double entendre that would be rendered empty without the help of real life martyrs, real life freedom fighters.  Brave, passionate people.  Let’s do what we can to help them “live” not “die” for freedom.  Let’s show our support and tweet and Facebook (post) a message now to all your fans and friends, “Live free!” to get the message out to our Mid-eastern and African neighbors who live under oppressive dictators.
Here at home, let’s put a face on freedom.  Tweet and Facebook our message.

Live Free, Not Die!
